New warning to Android owners about abuse of their movement tracker

A new warning to Android owners about a new alert reveals if someone is chasing them, as a new feature is introduced on devices, allowing users to see if a common tool to track their movements is being misused.

Devices such as Apple AirTags use a Bluetooth signal to move their location, which is supposed to be used to track valuables, but bad appendices have been reported to be using it to track their victims.

Google is rectifying a new security feature on its mobile devices to prevent this, and once the update is installed your phone will notify you if any unknown Bluetooth devices are “travelling with you”.

Clicking the notification will take you to a map that tells you where the device has been placed on your person and the route you have taken since.

There will also be an option to have the device play sound so you can locate it and remove it if necessary.

Your phone will then provide tips on what to do next, while also suggesting that you turn off the device manually.

This feature currently only works with AirTags but is scheduled to be expanded to include similar products in the near future.
