That's why... ChatGPT may have trouble answering some questions

Chat GPT can do everything but cannot provide real-time information, for example, about Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg's fight, he probably won't have answers because he doesn't know anything about recent events.

The chatbot was fed data only until 2021, however things will be a little different as ChatGPT received some major web browsing upgrades, as it can search the web if you ask but there is a problem.

OpenAI has introduced a new feature for ChatGPT Plus subscribers that allows them to browse the web using the ChatGPT app.

However, the web browsing feature is limited to using Peng as a search engine where “users can use browsing to get comprehensive answers and current insights about events and information beyond the original training data of the model.

To try it, enable browsing in the “New Features” section of the app settings, select GPT-4 in the form adapter and choose “Browse with Bing” in the drop-down list, as OpenAI said in a blog post.

To access this feature users can go to the app settings and go to the New Features section, then they can select "GPT-4" in the form changer and choose "Browse with Bing" from the available options. This navigation feature is available on the iOS version of ChatGPT.

OpenAI claims that this browsing capability, known as browsing, is particularly useful when users have questions about ongoing events or topics that exceed the information presented in the ChatGPT training data.

Without browsing enabled, ChatGPT’s knowledge is limited to the information available until 2021.

Browsing was initially announced as a feature to be offered on the web, but is now integrated into ChatGPT.

This addition reinforces the benefit of ChatGPT as an assistant, especially for research purposes.

However, some users have raised concerns about the decision to limit the search capabilities of ChatGPT on Bing.

It appears to be a step driven by the commercial partnership between OpenAI and Microsoft, where Microsoft invested a significant amount of money in OpenAI.

However, Bing is not the most comprehensive or reliable search engine when compared to alternatives like Google.

There has been previous criticism of Bing’s preference for Microsoft-related results and concerns about the existence of misleading information in its search results.

While Microsoft continues to work on optimizing Bing’s algorithms, the problem with ChatGPT’s navigation feature is that users won’t have any other search engine options to rely on when Bing shortens.
